Fascinating walk through the history of solving transients. The jump from D'Alembert's original solution to modern computational methods like EMTP shows how practical engineering pushed the math forward. The bit about Bernoulli's eigenfunction approach being comparable to Fourier series is particuarly clever since most folks dunno that connection goes back that far.

Read your article and had a flashback to my Navy days. Electronic Warfare equipment...Deception repeaters, waveguides, VSWR, the finickiness of it all. Those were some real nightmares, it took magic and voodoo to get things right. Never an engineer, myself. Just a tech.
